CAIS Middle School Student Leadership Conference

2024 CAIS Middle School Leadership Conference Recap

Highlights:

27 CAIS Middle Schools, 100+ students, three schools, a remarkable museum, and a lifetime of memories!

The Middle School Student Leadership Conference (MSSLC) came to life in Winnipeg, Manitoba, marking our first in-person event post-COVID with a new format that brought an energy and dynamism that truly invigorated the event.

Gratitude:

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our hosts - St. John's-Ravenscourt School, Gray Academy of Jewish Education, and Balmoral Hall - for their gracious hospitality and unwavering support.

Additionally, we express immense gratitude to the dedicated planning committee for their meticulous organization:

Julie Clement (Pickering College, Co-Chair),
James Darling (Holy Trinity School)
Steve Landreville (St. John's-Ravenscourt School Co-Chair)
Teresa Woodford (Halifax Grammar School)
Ann Walters (Collingwood School)
Lisa Meszaros (Rundle Academy)
Bryan Williams (Balmoral Hall)
Andrew Kaplan (Gray Academy)

Furthermore, we'd like to extend our thanks to all the Advisors and student participants, and the schools that made their participation possible. We also had a waitlist this year, highlighting the program's popularity. Therefore, we encourage all interested schools to sign up promptly for next year's MSSLC when registration opens.

Finally, a sincere thank you goes to The Asper Foundation for their generous support. Their commitment to nurturing young leaders is truly commendable, and we are immensely grateful for their support.

Looking Ahead:

CAIS events are safe, successful, and transformative because of the dedication of our Schools and our Leaders. Looking ahead to next year's MSSLC and beyond, we're eager to rotate the location to different regions to ensure accessibility and inclusivity. If you're interested in collaborating with other schools in your area to host this program, please consider submitting a proposal for 2025 and 2026. Many hands make light work and CAIS staff will provide logistical support to promote a safe and successful experience.

Thank you for your unwavering support of CAIS Student Programs and dedication to fostering the leaders of tomorrow.
