CAIS National Student Leadership
“CAIS schools encourage involvement of all students in leadership programs.”
CAIS is dedicated to providing opportunities for student growth and leadership. CAIS schools offer a wide range of activities where students can engage in areas outside of the classroom.
CAIS provides national student leadership opportunities for middle and senior school students:
-
Senior School Student Leadership Conference: Every spring, around 130 Canadian independent school student leaders come together to develop their leadership skills, complete a service project, and connect with other like-minded leaders from top schools across Canada. With guidance from a staff advisor, students from the host school develop programming, schedule speakers, and organize trips to showcase their region.
-
CAIS Middle School Student Leadership Conference: Offers students the chance to listen to inspiring speakers, participate in informative workshops and activities, and develop their leadership skills.
Update for 2024-2025
We are unable to offer in-person student leadership conferences this year as we haven’t been able to secure host schools for these events. We are grateful to the schools that have already volunteered to host in 2025-2026 and are now looking ahead for hosts in 2026-2027. Given how important these programs are to our member schools, we thank those schools that agree to host and will keep everyone updated as plans evolve.
