CAIS National Student Leadership
“CAIS schools encourage involvement of all students in leadership programs.”
CAIS is committed to facilitating opportunities for student growth and leadership. Our second accreditation standard focuses on the co-curricular life of member schools. CAIS schools provide a wide range of activities where all students are engaged in areas outside of the classroom.
CAIS offers two opportunities for national student leadership:
- Senior Leadership Conference - For Students, By Students
The Student Leadership Conference is designed for students by students. Every spring, approximately 130 Canadian independent school student leaders come together come together to develop their leadership skills, complete a service project, and get to know other like-minded leaders from Canada's top schools. With direction from a staff advisor, students from a host school develop programming, schedule speakers and organize trips to showcase their area of the country for the week of the Conference.
- CAIS Middle School Student Leadership Camp
In 2016, we held our third annual CAIS Middle School Student Leadership Camp. Over 100 students attended Onondaga Camp and listened to amazing speakers, enjoyed informative workshops and activities.
