Summer Leadership Institute Modules

A week of focused, practical learning for emerging and experienced leaders in independent schools.

Participants may register for up to three stand-alone modules based on their role, interests, and leadership goals.

The CAIS Summer Leadership Institute will take place at Halifax Grammar School in Halifax, NS from July 5–9, 2026, with optional accommodations available at Saint Mary’s University residences.

Several modules are nearing capacity. Early registration is encouraged.

Program Overview


Modules may be taken as part of the Independent School Leadership Diploma Program or independently as stand-alone professional learning. Participants do not need to be enrolled in the Diploma program to take part.

Participants may register for up to three modules during the week, with one module offered in each session block. Attendance in all sessions is required for module credit.

The Summer Leadership Institute is open to faculty and staff from both CAIS and non-CAIS schools.

Modules are priced at $645 for CAIS schools and $770 for non-CAIS schools. Fees include program costs, meals during sessions including two dinners, and materials. Travel and accommodations are not included.

Optional accommodations are available at Saint Mary’s University Loyola North residence for $95 per night. Participants must make their own travel arrangements.
