Move beyond the fundamentals of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in this intensive 10-hour module designed for experienced practitioners. Open to graduates of Pluralism I or those currently holding direct responsibility for EDI mandates, this course assumes a baseline fluency in core concepts and focuses on the practical application of leadership in complex school environments.
Participants will advance their EDI literacy by deconstructing authentic case studies drawn directly from the Canadian Independent School landscape. Central to our inquiry is the concept of positionality; we will rigorously examine how personal identity and professional role - "your seat in the car" - shape your capacity to effect change. Whether you are a classroom teacher, staff member or school leader, you will learn to identify and utilize the specific levers of influence available to you.
This module prioritizes action over theory. Through collaborative problem-solving and critical reflection, you will bridge the gap between intent and impact. Participants will conclude the course by developing a comprehensive, strategic action plan to address specific pluralism challenges within their own institutions, equipped with the tools to lead with confidence and clarity.
Prerequisite: Completion of Pluralism I or a current role with direct responsibility for EDI/Pluralism.
