Director of Accreditation
Heather joined CAIS as the Director of Accreditation in September 2021.
An education professional with extensive people and program leadership experience, Heather taught and led at the post-secondary level for several years prior to joining CAIS. She supported aspiring educators in Bachelor of Education programs as both a sessional faculty member and the field experience director, coordinating and supervising practicum placements. Heather especially valued the opportunity to engage with pre-service teachers on their professional learning journey.
Heather's curiosity and passion for learning are evident in her commitment to her own professional learning. She completed the Leadership Quality Standard (LQS) Principal Certificate, Alberta Education, in 2020 and holds two Master's degrees: a Master of Music and a Master of Education. Having completed many courses relating to Indigenous Peoples in Canada, Heather is committed to her own process of indigenization, decolonization, and reconciliation.
Heather makes her home in Mohkinstsis, the Blackfoot name for Calgary. She is honoured to work, play, live, and learn on Treaty 7 Lands and traditional territories.
