Strengthen Your School Leadership

CAIS values the constant and deliberate quest for excellence, and we recognize the vital leadership role that governors play, in partnership with Heads, in the success of our schools. We want all of our schools to have strong Heads who focus on supporting the students of the present, but we also want strong Boards that focus on supporting the students of the future.

The Governance Guide include new learning on a number of areas, including Human Resources, Risk Management, Head Transitions, and Consent Agendas.

CAIS members and non-members can purchase a hard copy here. And CAIS members can also view the full PDF in CAIS Connect here.

Liz Falco

Liz’s experience in CAIS schools runs broad and deep. With a multitude of experiences in day, boarding and single sex schools across 3 provinces, she brings a fresh and knowledgeable perspective to your most pressing challenges.

Liz held the position of Head of School at The Study (2003-10), and previously held roles as Director of Admissions at St. Michaels University School (1999 – 2002) and Head of Physical and Health Education / Director of Summer Institute of Educational Technology at Trinity College School (1992-99). Liz’s most recent experience as Executive Director at Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre in Montreal (2016-17) has deepened her expertise in leadership, governance, fundraising and private-public partnerships. The latter is something she is most excited about exploring with CAIS schools who are interested in deepening their role in the community as a “private school with public purpose”.

Liz enjoys being ‘another brain and set of hands at the table’ in CAIS schools. She brings a passion for fostering human potential and approaches challenges holistically and collaboratively. She is also fully bilingual, offering her services in both French and English.

Liz’s expertise includes: hands-on planning and project management, group facilitation, execution of strategic initiatives, as well as behind-the-scenes advice, research and support. She applies these across all areas of school business and operations.
